When to weigh yourself after a binge

I binged on Friday (3000 calories, about 1400 over my maintenance level) and I worked out that I should still be under my maintenance calories for the week even with the binge, so I shouldn't gain. But, I weighed myself today and I was up by a whole pound. :ohwell:

So my question is, how long is best to wait to weigh yourself after a binge for an accurate number? I'm not sure whether this is real fat or water from exercising on saturday/excessive sodium. I'm just really worried and down about it, I guess.

i've always wondered the same as well!

everyone says that assuming you don't have more than 5000calories you shouldn't put on weight...but i always put on at least 0.5-1kg after a binge when i weigh myself the next day.

I had a serious 3 day binge Sat-Mon and the scales told me i had put on 9lbs !!!! I have weighed myself today after 3 days of eating healthy and seemed to have reached my normal weight. Clearly plus a 1lb or 2lb because i did eat excessively over my calories. I find that i tend to hold a lot of water weight ( maybe due to excess salt content or the excess food in my digestive system) so i would say a couple of days .... ... I weigh myself the day after binge (DEPRESSING) and then 2-3 days later to see the damage done.

I have been binge eating for about 6 years now and this seems to be my lengh of time for my body to correct itself with healthy eating.

    Everybody is different x
