what, if any, do you plan to use for pain relief during labor?? I had an epidural with my 1st but think I want to try another route this time!! I may need a C section due to taking a lot of prednisone, so I may not need to even worry about it!!

  • I plan on going all natural, I went all natural for 30 plus hours induced labor with my son last year only to find out he turned breech lol and I ended up with a c-section. Trying for vbac this time and hoping my little guy cooperates. I'm on prednisone myself due to lupus, hopefully you
    can have a vaginal birth!

I plan on no drugs, just lots of moving around, changing positions, shower/tub. This is my first, though, so we'll see! We hired a doula to help out and I think she will be a huge help in staying natural, to both me and my husband!
  • I had my last baby natural...not planned that way but by the time I got to hospital, they said it was too late for me to get an epidural. It was the worse pain I ever felt but when I saw my baby face it was ALL worth it. I told my husband this time around I think I am going to go without any meds during labor...this time planned of course. Hot showers really help a lot. That's why I was late getting to the hospital because the water felt so good and eased my pain. Of course I didn't know I was in "real" labor. To the ladies that's thinking of going natural, go for it!

I plan on going natural too... Planning on using the shower, different positions, breathing, relaxation exercises, etc... Good luck ladies!

My first labour I had only had a little bit of gas, so I am hoping to go without this time. Guess it depends on the labour though. :)

I want to go natural! It's my first so hopefully I won't change my mind.

I'm aiming for all natural but I'm not making a religion out of it. I want to be as flexible as possible so I don't feel "disappointed" with whatever the result is as long as everyone makes it through healthy!

I'm not going to get any of the early medications but if I feel like I need an epidural then I will go that route, is "I'll play it by ear" a good answer?
