Hey all. Does anyone know if they treat varicose veins on the NHS?

I understand from reading previous threads on MFP that they won't go however fit you get and the only solution is surgery.

I have a few awful ones down the backs of my legs. I'd love to get rid of them, With my weight loss and toning up, I'm looking forward to getting in my bikini next year on holiday, but the varicose veins make me feel really ugly and I'm embarassed of them :blushing:

I can't afford private surgery, but wanted to ask if anyone has had them removed on the NHS? Is it worth me asking my doctor or would i just be wasting their time?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer! :drinker:

    Hello,
I asked my doc and she said they would do them only if they bring a risk of Thrombosis or to your heart... So even though, I fly regularly, she would not refer me...
I think it depends on your trust too... Some might...
No harm asking your doctor :-)
    Let us know...
