Well, in another day it should be official, but my son's girlfriend and I should be heading to Forks this October. I wanted to go see it before the last movie comes out, and before it loses its appeal, and goes back to a sleepy little community again.

   :smooched:   :blushing: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:      :blushing:

    It's official...I now have a love/hate relationship with you, Wonder Buns!!

Seriously though....I hope you have a wonderful time. Maybe I'll win the lottery between now and then and surprise you by turning up on First Beach. :noway:

Totally jealous - I would love to visit there - the scenery alone would make it worth it.

I wish we could all go! Miller tree inn is practically empty that week, lots of room!

Wow, that's really super cheap! I'd hate to know what it would be from the East Coast though.

I was shocked, because last summer it was probably $400+ for my ticket to Portland, Oregon. Seems like now is the time to buy if you have an inkling of going anywhere.

okay, maybe a dumb question, but what are you doing in Forks when you go there? I live in Washington state (on the EAST side, so not tons of rain or anything- and about a 4-5 hour drive to Seattle) and just recently read the Twilight series. I think my favorite book was Eclipse, and I'm not exactly sure what you'd do there- since I've been there before (pre-Twilight) and just literally drove through it on the way to somewhere else.

I understand that, be careful not to blink or you'll miss the town. They have capitalized on the movies, so forks and LaPush have changed. they have twilight bus tours, and stores that focus on Twilight, then you have to go see LaPush and visit Realto beach if you go. Further north is port Angeles. My dad used to be a truck driver and after the first time I went, he said you have to see port Angeles if you go again. . I love that part of the country, so for me I would love being there regardless of twilight, but twilight makes it so much better. I have also been to St Helen's Oregon, where they filmed some of Twilight, and Bella's original house is there. I have family in Oregon, so i have been fortunate to make the trips north.I encourage you to take advantage of it since its practically in your back yard. I would like to go into Canada this trip if I can work it out. Guess I need to work in that passport. Now if something great would happen here in Kansas.......um, probably not!

I AM really lucky, since we don't need a passport to go to Canada either- I've got the enhanced driver's license- which allows you to cross the border and back- I don't know if they only offer it in states that border Canada/Mexico - but it's usually only $25 more than your regular license- you might see if your state offers that...

    you. will. LOVE. it!

la push is even more gorgeous than described in the books - make sure to bring back some sand and rocks for a souvineer! and you *have* to go eat at the lodge - i recommend the esme burger. and if you get to stay the night there (we only passed through and visited for a few hours) you *must* go to the twilight lounge over the lodge and have a red jello shot for me!!!!

You gotta tell me about the lodge. I've been to Forks twice before, but I don't think i know about the Lodge or the Twilight lounge!!!

You should go to Victoria if you possibly can get your passport in order. Susie and I had a wonderful day there! The Hoh Rain Forest was pretty cool (it looks like in Eclipse when the Cullens are chasing Victoria through the forest) I absolutely loved First Beach.

The Lodge was closed last year when we were in Forks -- I think they had had a fire of something.
