...and need some support and motivation. Motivation is my biggest issue right now. I want to lose the weight, and am ready.

Welcome. I'm new to the this group, but not new to MFP. Personally ,my motivation comes from the mirror and the clothes I wear. To get started or when I don't feel like working out I view this thread:

It has more men than women, but it is inspirational nonetheless. Plus, you appear to be a dog lover, we can do anything. I got to a point where I can jog further than my fittest dog.

On the topic of motivation, pace yourself. Be patient and consistent. In the past, I've spent a lot of emotional energy trying to motivate myself, and I kind burn out without seeing much bang for my buck, so to speak. It's not because what i was doing wasn't working, it was; I was losing weight, but it was gradual. My problem was that I just needed to calm down and not try to race to get the body I want.

It's going to take me years. I've accepted that, and I've tried to integrate good choices and hard work into my life in a way that becomes a comfortable/livable routine. That way, I won't need to motivate myself quite so much. I can just live.
