Kicking up the cardio

Hey brothers,
Its been a heck of a few weeks. Getting ready to kick up the cardio and I am kind of dreading it. lol. Anyone doing any circuit training? Care to share routines. I am using the iPhone ap, Gorilla Workout, and LOVING it. I do my time on the treadmill and then do my GW circuit.

I see circuit training when people log it but honestly do not know what it is. What would be a typical workout Derek?0

Well currently I am programing my weight into the treadmill and doing a 400 calorie burn in 40 minutes. Following that, I am doing the Gorilla Workout. Basically it is a set of body weight based exercises done in circuits. Since I am on level 1, yesterday I did 10 sets of 10 modified pushups and 10 squats. Gorilla Workout is an iPhone ap that is pretty cool. It gives you a daily workout and even a video demonstration of each exercise. The exercises are easy, but it for sure gets your heart rate up. I am hoping more guys on MFP start on the Gorilla Workout. It would be cool to have parenters doing it.0

My circuit mixes in weights and cardio. I start with a 3 minute walk on the treadmill to warm up. I then do a set of 25 reps on leg press, followed by 25 reps on leg curls, 25 reps on lat pull downs, 25 reps on bench press, 25 reps on shoulder press, 25 reps on dumbell incline bench, 15 reps on dumbbell curls, hold a plank for 1 minute, then do 30 end-of-the-bench leg lifts. That is one circuit. I then run on the treadmill as fast as I can for 3 minutes and repeat the circuit. Upon completion of the second circuit, I run as fast as I can for again and then alternate between heavy leg presses for 3 sets of 8 reps and heavy bench press for 3 sets of 8 reps. I finish with 10 minutes of walking at a casual pace and stretching for 10-20 minutes.0

I wonder how I would make a circuit using my treadmill and Total Gym? I will be doing some research, Thanks guys this is a great idea.0

I am sure it could be done. I just decided that not building muscle slows the metabolism. I can't really afford to go to the gym and I don't like a lot of equpiment around the house with little kids around. Body weight exercises seemed like the best solution to me. My problem is I don't have the initiative or creativity to come up with my own set. It helps me to have a routine layed out for me because I know if I make up the routine I will not push myself like I should.0
