Just wondering what all you guys like to do to keep yourselves occupied/busy/out of trouble

I am in the progress of turning my hobby into a little cash generator - I am a corsetier! for anyone thinking WTH? Its a corset maker, as in the steel boned, suck you in, waist cinching corsets like what burlesque dancers wear, and if you look at my tracker down below, you'll see the rather gorgeous Dita Von Teese, burlesque dancer and corset aficionado! (she can get her waist down to a teeny 18" when fully corseted) :smooched:

Being the crafty sort, i can also draw & sketch, I can knit, sew, cross stitch and a little bit of photography!

When I'm not working or working out I like to to entertain myself with a bit of xbox gaming, reading and trying to be artistic with a camera

I like photography (particularly landscapes) and geocaching. Both of which involve spending lots of time outside and don't mix well with torrential rain and a non waterproof waterproof coat. Refuse to buy a new one until I'm at my goal weight though, lol.

What is this spare time you talk about?!

Haha seriously though, I play hockey from September-March with my uni team, when I'm back at my parents' for summer or whatever I horse ride (sadly no room to take the ponies to London!), and the rest of the time I've been getting into knitting and crochet. The problem is that I always see things I like, start making them, and then run out of time to actually get very far... so far I have started 5 different things, have 1 waiting to be started, and have finished only 1!

    Hi :flowerforyou:

My main hobbie (which is beginning to make a bit of money) is photography.
We also hike a lot (weekends away in the Lake District with the dog etc).
I have a rescue dog and do some voluntary dog walking at the dogs home where I got her as well as some fundraising.

Realised I forgot to mention my main other thing - not sure if it classes as a hobby or just voluntary work but it's a bit of both. I'm a member of girlguidingUK and a Guide and Senior Section leader - so that's girls from 10-26 I spend my time looking after. very few quiet evenings and weekends at home for me.

Love reading, never happier than when im well and truly engrossed in a a good book. Have also been known to lose weeks of my life on the playstation 3. These are my "lazy" hobbies! Also studying for an accounting qualification currently (so unbelievably exciting you wouldn't believe it)
However I also love activities! I run with a club on sunday mornings, although i'm not sure i can claim to enjoy it as such! I live by the sea and my boyfriend and I have just bought kayaks, so we try to get out on them as often as we can (not so great with the awful weather at the mo). Go out cycling regularly and i recently took part in the London to Brighton Bike ride, which was ace!
Also like stomping around in the great outdoors, My Profile pic is me just before clambering up Snowdon in the perpetual rain.
Other than that it's the usual, walking on the beach, spending time with my friends and family, partial to the occaisional G&T

At home I read a lot and am part of a book circle (we buy books usually from charity shops, pass round to each other and the last person to read it takes it back to a charity shop ), I also play on my playstation and when I feeling up to it use my wii for exercise. I love my garden but am not always well enough to work in it, but when I am, I'm in my element :)

I decided that I need to get fitter and I bought an exercise bike of ebay. At first it was a definite chore which I was beginning to hate, but since I decided to make a blog of my "virtual journey around the UK" I'm on it daily so that I can then go to the map, work out where I would be if I'd actually cycled and then google the place and make a blog in words and pictures!...I've cycled the equivalent of 166 miles at the moment and my first blog was about the first 96 miles! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/furby1

I play skittles as part of a team in the winter, and Quoits as a team member in the summer. The quoits I play is the indoor pub game with a table. I also go to the cinema most weeks with a friend to the matinee performances, when there's something worth viewing!

At the moment my passion is travel so all of my annual leave (and a few weekends if we can squeeze something in) is spent on that. Not your stay in one place and mill about for a week or lay on the beach kind of travel but your run off your feet, squeezing 3 countries into 5 days kind of travel.

I also love photography, which fits well with the travel.

I love languages but I don't often get time to work on them - I'm trying to learn French and I'm quite keen to learn Portuguese.

I read a lot (I have 3 hours of commuting on the train on work days) and love the cinema and eating out (unfortunately!), oh yeah, I'm a huge foodie! And love to cook - totally addicted to Masterchef Australia at the minute which has been inspiring me to try some new things.

Oh and when I'm in the right mood I host socials for a website called citysocialising to meet some new people and also help other people meet new people!

I can't believe that I actually missed reading out when I posted before.... that is like all I spend every day doing. A Kindle a couple of years ago is the best birthday present I've ever had. Amazon has SO MANY free books! Some of them are rubbish, but most are actually quite good!

I could really do with some hobbies or interests. I find myself getting bored way too often.
I really enjoyed photography in college, so may look at investing in a decent camera, maybe a second had one just to get me started.
I have also been meaning to look into horse riding lessons as I did when I was younger.

If you have a recent smartphone you could use the camera on that and get as creative as you can!

My hobbies are Archery, (Preparing for the zombie apocalypse! ) helping out at a cub scout group and roleplay (RPG). Not the kinky kind, the roll strange dice and fight dragons kind. Stupidly geeky and not very girly I know, but been doing it since I was about 13.

The rest of my evenings are in the gym or spending time with my OH

I also spend a large part of winter shivering in the stands at Saracens rugby games...

I seem to have no time to myself any more, but I love it all so much I couldn't give any of it up!

Do you do actual Role-play too as in dress up? I have a friend of mine who i've just made another corset for who does - it was a lovely wench style one!

I wish i had more spare time...

i'm a rubbish triathlete, a too-heavy long distance cyclist, very sweaty hill-walker and wild camper, terrible gardner and, when I have the time, [very] amateur photographer. I dream of one day quitting the 6am -> 7pm job and being able to get slightly better at all of them!

photographys the only one I might make money out of, I've done a couple of weddings and fashion shoots and am building a kinda-average portfolio at www.simpleimages.co.uk (if anyone needs an exhausted wedding photographer, let me know!!!)

I love anything crafty, have done lots of sewing type courses making bags, soft furnishings and dress making, in the winter also like a bit of cross stich in front of the fire. In the summer love tennis and just recently taken up golf, starting to get the bug. I have also signed up for a floristry course in September after I did flower arranging. I always have so many projects on the go I just need more time, or retire soon.

I'm also a role player, but not the dress up kind, we call those larpers (live action role players) I run a shop which organises gaming days and evenings, which tends to be my down fall on the diet front! On my gaming night we sit around have a laugh, throw some dice, kill the monsters and eat mounds of sweeties and chocolate!
The two seem to go together! I tried bringing carrot sticks and humous one week but it didn't go down very well! lol!

My boyfriend organises a bunch of his friends to come over for tabletop RPGs once a week too (or used to, he just moved away), they ALWAYS involve takeaway, chocolate, and often crisps and a mountain of fizzy drinks too... when I'm over there that day of the week it tends to destroy my diet too!

    Interesting

Up until recently I did Tae Kwon Do (on an enforced break), so have literally been trying out different martial arts classes as a replacement.

That's the active side, on the not so active side, I'm a volunteer with St John Ambulance and trained up to patient transport level, when I have the time I like to knit, play computer games (WoW and Skyrim at the moment) and read (Sci-fi and Fantasy)

I love Dita von teese and corsets even though I don't own one, I was planning on getting one when I lose a bit of weight, even though I know I could wear a corset and suck in my belly lol. I also knit just never really stick to a project long enough. Where do you sell your corsets?
