How do you feel about it? Who should back down and suck it up.

Viacom is locked in a tense standoff with DirecTV, whose 20 million nationwide customers have been cut off from Viacom programming since last Tuesday, when the companies' seven-year contract expired. The two sides are battling over the hefty increase Viacom is seeking in the affiliate fees DirecTV pays to carry Viacom's 17 channels, which include Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and MTV.

Both companies are treading the issue like a holy war, staging intense social media and advertising campaigns urging their customers to speak out.

Jon Stewart took a few pointed shots at those tactics on Monday night's "Daily Show" episode.

"Viacom, DirecTV, what are you doing here?" Stewart asked. "You've got ad campaigns blaming each other for taking the shows away, telling people to rise up and demand it like it's some kind of basic cable Arab Spring."

Personally I think they should split the increase and not raise our bills. They can both suck it................................up.

I'm also getting tired of it. Thank god I don't have little kids....they took all the kid channels, and it's summer break.......Comedy Central is the biggest loss for our viewing habits.....

We haven't had cable for about 2 years. Really been wanting to get it as we watch several TV shows and are sick of waiting for them to come out on DVD....

Glad I don't ahve it right now. We only have one option for cable and that's Comast. So those of you who know anything about Comcast...yeah, enough said.

I switched from Comcast to Directv because Comcast was so bad. Turns out they are all terrible. I am thinking about a Roku box after my Directv contract is up and just sign up for hulu plus/netflix stream.

I am cancelling Direct TV and if I pay for anything else that involves viacom I am canceling that too, this is what their greed and pettiness gets them from me, I read a lot and we have a lot of DVD's that can use some watching............anything else, well that's what the internet is for lol

Meh... same story, different programming provider... Viacom has done this with Time Warner and AT&T as well a few years ago... they will eventually come to an agreement.
