Introducing myself :)

Hi my name is Samantha and I wanted to introduce myself.
I am 25, have currently lost 80 pounds
and yet still NO period. I literally have not had a period in about 2-3 years and when I did have a period I was on birth control. About 5 years ago saw my OB to find out was wrong, I ended up having to have a D&C to remove the thick uterine lining that had developed and to remove some uterine polyps. After that I went on birth control to regulate my periods. I was stupid and stopped seeing my OB, which means no prescriptions, which means no period.
This also means that although I haven't been actively trying to get pregnant, I also haven't done anything to prevent pregnancy for 3 years and yet still no pregnancy which is really discouraging.
I thought the majority of my issues were weight related and I really wanted to have a family so I started this journey. Now losing 80 pounds and yet still not getting my period, is really frustrating to me. I'm going to see my OB and I hope she is able to help, because I have always wanted a family. I feel God has called me to be a mother. I have mixed feelings to, I want to get to my goal weight before I get pregnant, but I would love to find out that I am pregnant as well
What is also really frustrating, is my sister who "messed up" and didn't use protection once just found out she is pregnant, even though she was 5 months along until she "noticed" something was different! grrrr
I love reading all of your stories and it keeps me motivated to keep trying. Thank you for reading mine.

Hi Samantha,
Welcome to the group. Short version of my story: I have a five year old daughter. She was conceived after a year of trying but we didn't need to use fertility assistance. During that year, I had periods once every 6-8 weeks. Now I've been off the pill for about seven months and I've had two periods. I haven't had one since January. I am taking Metformin and my dose was just increased. Feel free to add me as a friend.0
