Gaining Weight on P90X?

Hey everyone... question for you... has anyone else gained weight while doing P90X? Especially early on? I am going to finish up my first week today, and this morning weighed in at about 1.5 lbs higher than when I started. Usually, when I am burning this many calories, I can drop several lbs in one night even, but now I seem to be gaining... I'm not too concerned about it, because I know I am getting more fit and in shape, but just wondering if this is normal and when it turns around and the scale starts going the other way...

I'm no expert and i don't know if weight gain is normal...but I had reached my goal weight, and have gained a few doing P90X...the reason I am not upset is because even though I weigh more, I am soooo much more toned...my clothes fit better & I see more muscle definition.
Initially I think you might put on some weight because of DOMS - the muscles cushion themselves with water to protect themselves...they are sore and need cushioning!!!! but if you follow the nutrition plan, you will have no problem losing the weight.

You can gain anywhere from 1-2 pounds of muscle a week when you first start out. I went up 1.5 pounds too and I am on week 2. I also went down from 17.7% body fat to 17.2% this past week. Although, I think my gain was really water and food with a little muscle. p90x workouts are geared towards muscle building. If you don’t have a huge deficit you might go up in weight. Somehow even with a deficit I still build a lot of muscle. You may be the same.0
