I feel Like I'm the carzy one in the ER in the middle of the night with the daughter thats fine till the take her temp. We have been frequent flyers to the ER for high fevers. when she gets above 104 she is able to communicate better, very social , less irritable and has a wounderful imagination (she has no imagination at all) . best of all she we could live life on the wild side and do away with almost all of her routines. am I alone on this?

My daughter has a tendency to spike fevers like that (especially when she was younger). She would sleep more but she was still pretty talkative. She would just spike them out of the blue without any other complaints too and it would turn out she had a nasty ear infection or something! We spent a lot of nights in the ER for that too0

I wish they could find out why she gets her fevers or stops eating and drinking. Its hard she cant tell you what hurts. its always feels the same and even now that we going to children's hospital they still dont know much. One Dr. told us that kids with autism run a lot more fevers for a unknow reason.0

Just a thought- does she have bowel or tummy issues? (like is she regular and such?) Sometimes weird stuff can be behind it like intestinal disorders or a fecal impaction. A lot of times kid with Autism also have high pain tolerances or don't express it as much so it could be something like that where it's easier to overlook.0

she is very regular (1-2 times a day) still we know she has fecal impactions. the last 3 months she has been on miralax once every other week to clean her colon out. we see gastroenterologist for her and she said the samething about kids with autism. when she is older or if we have another long stay in the hospital they will do more tests on her.0
