Should I start..or should I wait?

Hi everyone!!
My name is Sara and I am new to this group. I just got the Insanity DVDs yesterday on a whim and I cannot wait to start! I am currently trying to lose about 25 more lbs (I've lost 40 so far!) and I've gone from barely being able to do 30 minutes on the elliptical to being able to run 4-5 miles without stopping and I also do several workout DVDs on top of my runs (Jillian Michaels ones).
My question is- Has anyone completed this yet, and is it okay to do everything in sequence but with a few extra days of rest? I will be out of town a few weekends over the next 60 days (camping trip, music festival, weddings) and will have to miss a day or two each week. Is it okay to just do the schedule in sequence and take an extra rest day each week? Also, does anyone else plan on continuing to run or mix in other strength training a few days a week? (When I work out, I like to burn 1000 calories at once, but I usually only do this 3-4 times a week...I am busy!)
Thanks,
Sara

Hi Sara!
It's fine to take an extra day off here and there. Life happens. I would say on weeks where you have an extra day (or two) off, you can probably skip cardio recovery... I'm doing a hybrid program with Chalean Extreme and Insanity, so I'm only doing it 3 days a week and just finished fit test 2 at the end of week 3 on the program.
So yes, you can do strength and insanity at the same time. You may not get as much muscle gain from the weightlifting, and you may not lean out as quickly from the Insanity, but knowing that... go for it!0
