I came across this the other day and signed up for one when it gets released. Read about it and let me know your thoughts.
I like the graphic interface and the ability to have content available without the big corporate interference. Looks promising. Because its open source i hope it to also be a good media stream system. I currently use the PS3 and a Apple TV but both could improve the GUI for cover art etc.

Already donated $100 to it. It has a lot of potential. Not only as a video game device, but also as a media device. With XBMC coming out for android, this could become a full fledge multimedia device. Im looking to replace my WDTV using this, so I can watch movies and play games.
Also the tegra 3 is an amazing processor. On my tablet I have a tegra 3, and just recently I downloaded 300 n64 roms, and have been reliving my glory days using that + and xbox controller. Games like Max Payne 3, Shadowgun, Dead Trigger, Plants vs Zombies, Nova 3, Modern Combat 3, and Dead Space are all an absolute blast on android. Im really excited for this0 -
Whilst I sort of see it's place, more as a casual gamers machine for people with low income who like the idea of playing games like Angry Birds on the big screen, I don't see it really taking off.
Mostly because I don't think many developers will take on board a system that encourages hacking. A nice toy for bedroom devs and families alike but I don't see it really claiming a significant market share.0 -
It looks pretty cool imo.0

I jumped on the console + second controller deal before they hit their goal. I'm quite excited to get it. Today they announced OnLive support, so I assume that will fill some gaps satisfactorily for some people that this could potentially be their only console.
Myself, I would rather own my games, and I am hoping this becomes the main hub of indie innovation, creativity, and freedom of expression. That's my hope. I have even been considering getting back into development and coming up with a cool game for it. But with a kid on the way, it seems like wishful thinking right now. My time is already stretched thin with my other hobbies and responsibilities. But you never know..
I wish the controller didn't suck, though. Staggered sticks feels so unnatural.0 -
Curious to see where this goes, but probably not enough to buy one early. The controller looks..questionable, and I'm curious to see what the Tegra will bring to the table graphically when it comes to big screen gaming before I buy into it. This feels like something that, if it catches on at all, will spawn dozens of clones and might be eclipsed pretty quickly by more powerful hardware.
It's a cool concept though, and quite a few developers have thrown in their support for it, so I hope it works out for them.0 -
interesting but i don't see myself using it.0
