Fruit sugar

I bought a water melon last week from a stand. And, as it was $6, I bought the biggest one I could find. So, I have had watermelon every day. I notice that it is really too sweet for me. It seems to activate hunger and makes the bottom of my feet tickle. I think this is due to the high concentration of sugar.
I have also noticed, over time, that I feel better if I greatly water down sweet things or drink a lot of water with a sweet food/starches, i.e corn.
So, tonight I blended a serving of water melon with lots of water and plain protein powder. It made a nice drink but did not activate more hunger. The protein as well as the water seems to reduce that funky sugar hunger.
In future I'll stick to lower sugar fruit.
