Anyone ever heard of/seen this show?
I discovered it today when looking for something to watch on the treadmill. It's about this hot, blonde model who dies and faces judgement. She thinks she cheats death by forcing her way back to earth but wakes up instead in the body of a plus-sized lawyer. I just now googled it and discovered it's in the 4th season. Not sure how said storyline can last so long but it was kinda funny and also eye-opening.

I see previews off & on. It looks good to me, just haven't invested any time in watching it!0

One of my guilty pleasures... :blushing:
The premise is a little corny obviously, but the show is fun. I just wish they would let Jane (the lawyer) wear something other than a suit once in awhile....she would be a great person to showcase some trendy plus-size fashion! She IS an ex-model you know! lol0 -
Love it, watched on Netflix and I'm not sure what season they have up til..I like it.0

Yes! I don't watch much tv at all but Drop Dead Diva is my summer show. It is in 4th season but since it's a summer show, only 12 episodes per season so the story line doesn't seem tooo dragged out yet. It is a fun show and always tugs at my cold heart strings. Will Grayson and Jane just get together already! Sighs.0

I thought it was funny at parts, but other parts stung as I re-lived some of the things people said to me or about me (or about fat people once I lost enough weight to be "allowed" to hear that kind of conversation.0

I LOVE that show. It's the only one I watch religiously every week.
The vast majority of her scenes, Jane is in a suit. When she's on a date with Owen or out to the bar with Stacey, she does wear more fashionable stuff.
They advertise her as a size 16. I wonder if that is true. It's hard to tell because we don't see 16's on tv often plus I have no idea how tall she is.0 -
I love Drop Dead Diva! It is soooooo good. And yeah, it doesn't get too played out because it goes slow and there are always obstacles in the way.
Whenever I watch it I always scream at the TV!0 -
I watched the first season but haven't kept it up after that.0

During my trip I've had time to watch a few episodes- and it definitely highlights what I've experienced as "the fat girl treatment." It also reinforces the notion that size makes a HUGE difference in how attracted someone is to you- I'm at the episode where the fiance of the model who died and came back in someone else's plus size body is now falling in love with this thin girl whose personality he doesn't even like (he gets upset with her for manipulating him, they disagree on marriage and other key issues, etc). There's this plus size woman with the personality of his late fiance (because, well, she *is* his late fiance) and there's no romantic attraction. No matter how much she catches this guy by surprise saying, doing, or feeling something that his fiance did, he's just not interested. It's the thin girl he couldn't stand that gets the kiss.0

I hate Vanessa! Yuck bugged me so much.
But yes I think the show is a good example how you're treated being fat versus being skinny.0 -

That's what keeps me watching this show. A lot of times people get on me about "people don't really think about fat people that way" and this show is confirming a lot of that. Sad but true. the "fat girl treatment" is part of my motivation to lose weight.0 -
I love this show! My mom and I started watching it last season - the season (summertime) is way too short! I've been too busy with obligations to watch - but it is going to be interesting this season with Grayson figuring stuff out, lol.0

The premise that being a size-16 lawyer is a punishment I find unbelievably angering. Apparently it's a fate worse than death, literally, to be a plus-size, intelligent, professional woman, which says a LOT about what is wrong with our society. Nonetheless, I have seen the show a few times, and have found it to be well-observed and produced.0 -

Nice catch.
However, it could be worse. In the Hindi version I believe she comes back as a cow...
