Physical Exercise While Trying to Conceive

What is the consensus on how much/how hard one should exercise while trying to conceive? I enjoy HIIT, spin classes, running, 30DS and I just purchased the Insanity DVD. Obviously, I do not want to jeopardize my chances of conceiving or, once I HAVE conceived, risking the chance of miscarrying due to over-exertion. I guess it's probably a case-by-case thing, and, when I visited my doc last week for my well-woman exam, she never said anything in terms of "slow down on exercising, be careful, etc" but of course, little "voices" in my head (my mom and a crazy co-worker who subscribes to all kinds of "voodoo" old wives' tales) are telling me that I need to limit myself to the elliptical and walking. By no means am I a crazy workout person (I usually try and work out 4x/week for an hour), but I am currently trying to lose some weight, so high intensity workouts seem to help me shed the most weight so if I can continue with those, I'd like to. But again, I dont want to risk not being able to conceive or risk losing a baby in utero...
Thoughts?? Should I talk to my doc about this?
Maybe I need to steer clear of those "voices" in my head...LOL!

My sis in law is an OB. She says just keep doing what you normally do. Exercise is good for you and the munchkin.0

My doctor told me to continue doing exactly what I was doing. He said exercise will not cause a miscarriage or put the developing baby in any jeopardy. If you are otherwise healthy, I wouldn't worry about your high intensity workouts.
I was exercising hard, got pregnant the first month of trying, and kept up the intensity for the entire first trimester. Felt great

I did insanity while TTC, but stopped once I got pregnant. I still do Zumba and other workouts, but just go with my gut. It's all up to you and how you feel and your doctors advice!0

I worked out hard (running, 30 DS and other dvd's, lifting) while TTC and kept it up until I was too exhausted (first tri wiped me out). I eventually slowed down and lightened the load- you just have to listen to your body. You'll know when enough is enough.
Best of luck to you!
And just a side note, don't become too lax on working out during pregnancy because we all know how hard it is to get back in to the routine of working out. You'll feel better and be healthier all around.0 -
I've always heard that you can do the same workouts pregnant that you did before you were pregnant with the same intensity. They advise you to stay off your back (for like crunches and such) after the first trimester, but otherwise as long as you feel good you're fine.
While I was/am ttc I don't do anything I wouldn't do pregnant so I don't have to change my habits or worry about things like that if I do get a BFP.0
