Opinions: change one day to front squats instead of back?

So, my hamstrings and glutes are getting a heck of a workout from squats and deads, but since I switched to low bar and got better at form, I don't think my quads are doing as much work.
Despite what NROLFW says, my quads have always been a bit weaker than my hamstrings. Back when I didn't know what I was doing and hired a trainer and used the machines, I could always do more weight on the hamstring curl than the leg extension.
So, I've been thinking about changing one workout a week to front squats, and continuing to do back squats the other two days.
Now, I know that I likely will not be able to do as much weight with a front squat, but I don't know how much to go down. It would seem silly to start at just the bar at this point. So, 10% less than back? 20%?

For you and what you've told us, I say why not. I don't know how much to deload, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to. My quads are not lacking in strength; it's my hams that are, so I'll be sticking with back squats.
I'm tempted myself to learn the occasional lifting workout, like maybe a snatch or squat to press. I watch videos, and they look like fun. Front squats look like an interesting challenge.
So it's been a couple weeks...did you start this? How did it go?0 -
I'm interested too! Front squats look so hard to me. lol.0
