Great First Tri Workout

This morning my friend and I had a great training session. We ran a 10K and biked 7.25 miles. Everything felt nice and smooth. My only concern is my bike saddle. That thing HURT! I may consider buying a new one.

I will probably swim tomorrow. However, I'm happy with how everything went today, especially on my first bike ride.

I think/know I'm going to love this sport!

Go to a bike store and have your seat bones measured. It'll help with your saddle selection. There is also a break in period with riding bikes where you experience soreness front sitting on a bike for extended times but it'll fade over a week or so.

    Congrats on the good workout!

Awesome workout! Your first workout is way more than I'm doing over half way through my sprint training! ;) I'm definitely no expert, but my butt hurts too! I got toe clips for my bike yesterday and the guy said they can actually help because they keep your feet where they need to be, preventing your butt from sliding forward on the seat. Just one thing to consider.

Great training! As others mentioned, you may need a new saddle, but you may just need to give it time. It does get better!

This is exciting news indeed! Congratulations!

And, welcome to the wild and wacky world of triathlon. It's addictive, fun, sweaty, frustrating, exciting, life changing, beautiful, peace inducing, angering, blister and rash causing, but mostly just good old fun. Lots and lots of fun.

    Enjoy!
