The Color Run

Not an obstacle race (though I paid about the same). Did it this weekend, and was disappointed at the lack of organization. I wouldn't spend money on it again.

• No wave times, 8000+ people all at once. Nuts.
• Parking 10 miles away from the start, very slow shuttle service, and not enough of it
• No bag check, despite having a list of things to bring like change of clothes, towel, shoes, etc. Had to run while carrying all my stuff
• No free drinks at the end. For that much money, give me a beer, and don't charge for water

I ran it on a cooler, rainy day. The day before was HOT. Busses were two hours late, people were passing out in line waiting for the busses, and they started SELLING water to those about to pass out. I'm friends with a few of the firefighters/EMT who worked detail, and they were disgusted by the organizers.

    in Amesbury?

I ran it too. I ran on Saturday and it was not much better. The bag check and cost of everything at the end were my biggest complaints. We waited in line over an hour for the stupid shuttle, I guess there was a huge accident on 495. I also thought the DJ sucked!I hated standing there for over 30 minutes while they tried to block everyone off into groups of 1000. Then the color throwers for the first 2 were barely throwing any color. We actually got back on the bus to take all our crap to my car, but there were so many people we ended up not being able to get off or we wouldn't have made it back to the start. No idea why they didn't just park everyone at the sports park and make the race a loop and provide a bag check?

I can't believe they sold water to those about to pass out! We didn't even get water while we waited in line!

It was nice to run next to the water.

Yup, Amesbury. I was definitely disappointed. I've done Zombie/Spartan/Warrior there before, and it was much better organized with those groups. Though Warrior last year was a parking nightmare. I have a friend who live less than a mile from the Sports Park, so after the first one, we started parking at her house and walking over.
