Hi -
My name is Sarah and 23 years old.
I am from IL.
My eye condition is Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. The conditions is accompanied by strabismus, myopia, nystagmus, and some photo sensitivity.
I am paired with my 2nd guide.
My goal weight is 140. I've been overweight since I was 9.
There are a variety of activities I enjoy, but the majority of them are not available on my college campus. Not to mention, finances are a bit tight this year.
I'm glad this group exists.
Hoping to meet some of you.

Hi,
I'm Tracey. I have Retinitis Pigmentosa. my visual field is between 5 and 10 degrees with patches of pigment on my retinas, which results in multiple blind spots. I have found that I have put on even more weight as my eyes deteriorated. I've also noticed that my gait has slowed to a shuffle because I am uneasy with white cane mobility.
Due to my discomfort with mobility, I've limited my cardio to stationary bike and water aerobics when the weather gets warmer. I also have a stability ball and floor mats for yoga. I look forward to some ideas from others with visual impairments to safely and effectively exercise.

Hi, I'm Shell and like Tracey I also have retinitis pigmentosa, though I've lost all my sight now.
I had a couple of guide dogs, but now use a stick. My partner also has sight problems, but can see enough to get round during the day.
I was very active and slim before, running, swimming, skating etc, But replaced these activities with reading, knitting and more in-doors hobbies. I think I started overeating to calm my nerves and it became a very bad habit. I go to the gym with my friend 3 times a week and would like to lose 50 lbs.
How is everyone else doing on this program? I find this the most accessible site I've been on of this kind for screen readers.0
