I started here on Aug. 7th, after deciding that I absolutely had to make some major lifestyle changes.
Since then (just four days ago), I was diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol...yikes! Now I'm reallyyyyyyy motivated!
I'd like to lose about 60 lbs, which would bring me down to lower than my university weight. Big job ahead.
So far I'm loving this site, and I've already lost six pounds (healthily!).
Wishing you all well on the journey ahead.

hello! I have been on since the end of May. I have a LOT to lose, but I am focusing on a month at a time. I like using My Fitness Pal----holding myself accountable is half the battle.

hello! I have been on since the end of May. I have a LOT to lose, but I am focusing on a month at a time. I like using My Fitness Pal----holding myself accountable is half the battle.

I don't work at focusing on a time line. Timelines are a pressure that I can't handle at all. When I do that, I end up sabotaging myself. This time around I'm AIMING at losing 1 to 1.5 lbs a week but I'm not driving myself nuts over it when I don't. I'm also doing about 2 hours of exercise 5 days a week and just walking on weekends. So far I'm down 52 lbs since February but have only been on MFP for 5 weeks. My specialist talked with me and suggested I try it here. The accountability helps alot.
My goal is to do the best I can all the time and when I fail (and I will from time to time), I just go rinse out my mouth, brush my teeth and drink a glass of water; then get on with working at doing better.
