Not miles but time. I am thinking 40 minutes M, T, W, F is good and 80 minutes onSaturday for my long run...is this okay? I'm not here yet but closer and I need a plan. Thanks

Depends.....but typically 60 minutes-ish, and that is anywhere from 6 1/2 to 8 miles, depending on whether I''m doing Easy Run, Tempo, or Speedwork. Saturday mornings is long run (which I define personally as anything more than a few miles greater than your "normal"run), to which I add one more mile every other week (currently at 17). All depends on what you're training for--daily fitness, or a specific race?0

I'm not new to running per se but just now really getting into it for fun/stress relief/racing so I'm doing a 5k in late sept, 10k in may, 10 mile next summer and the Disney marathon in 2014. I'm sure there will be more but right now I'm at 3.5 for my shorter runs and 5.5 for my long run this week. I'm increasing my distance each week just slowly0

I've been running for about 8 months - my two runs during the week are 40-50 minute range (usually 4-5 miles), and my Saturday long runs are closer to 2 hours, since I am training for a half.0

I try to do at least 45 minutes. I don't have a "long" run built into my schedule really, but I have enough time allotted for my runs that whenever I get going and I'm feeling good I have the freedom to turn it into one. When that happens, it's about an hour and a half, but I'm going to have to improve that soon.0

I wish I had that freedom I have two kids in school a toddler at home and a husband who all desire my time. So my day looks like this
545 up and dressed
6 run
638 home (working up to 40 min )
638-645 stretch
645 make lunches
650 make breakfast
7 get hubby up for work
730 hubby out the door
745 kiddos up and fed
845 out the door for drop off at school
905 workout at the park
That's my m-f sat wake up at 6 run till 720 home to make breakfast0 -
My M-W-F run is 1.5 hours
My Sa run is 3 hours (3.5 yesterday)0 -
My usual is around 40 minutes or so, but lately I've been pacing a new-to-running friend for only a mile at a time, then running on my own 1-2 days a week. It's been a nice relaxing pace, but I miss my long days.0

anywhere from 30mins to 1hr+
depends on what I have on that day, and what I can commit to.
Monday's are my long run days, so I tend to do more the hour long plus runs.0 -
6.5 miles normally.0
-
Totally depends on the run. Speed work ends up being only about 3 miles. A recovery run is around 4-5. A long is around 10.0

Normal weekday runs are usually 6 to 8 miles. A little longer in the summer when I'm not getting kids off to school.
Weekends are 12 - 20+ depending on where I am in my training cycle.0 -
My daily miles are 5-7 miles with long runs on Sat of 10-11 miles.0
-
Tuesday, Thursday one hour (10-12km). Saturday three hours(30km) working up to four(42.2km). Sunday recovery run of 30 minutes(5-6km).0
-
I run 5 days a week. Tue, Wed, Thu, Sat and Sun. Typical runs are generally 1-1.5 hours. Long runs have a large variance but they are usually 3+ hours.0
-
I usually go for miles, not time.
My average run is between 3-5 miles and my long run is between 6-10, depending.0 -
/me does math in his head....
I do 60 to 75 mins, three to four times a week. 90 to 110 mins 2 to sometimes 3 times a week and a long run between 2 and 3 hours once a week. My weekly runs add up to between 8 and 12 hours a week.0 -
Kinda depends on what I'm training for. Right now I'm doing M: 30 minute recovery run, W: 1+ hour with hill repeats, Friday I have 2 runs with the morning being at a lower heart rate than the evening, Sunday: 30 minutes after my long bike session for the week. This will change when I transition from half ironman training to full ironman training.0
-
depends on the day
M - 40-70 min
T - 60-90 min (track/speed)
W - 60-100 min
Th - 30-60 min
F- 30 min
Sat - 60-90 min (tempo, hill)
Sun - 90-3 hrs0 -
my two runs during the week are about an hour, saturdays are my long runs, just started half marathon/marathon (if i can make it) training, so those will get LONG as the weeks progress.0

Typically about 5k, but anywhere up to 10k. Having issues settling to a proper settled routine to build up mileage, as aim to do a half marathon early 2013. It feels some days it is easier to carry on running, and some days a total struggle, hence why I struggle to settle to a set routine. Am tempted by Hal Higdens Intermediate 2 plan... but seems like a LOT of days running?0
