Yeah, that's right. I'm a SAHD. And I'm PROUD of it, dammit. I don't care who says what stupid comment. I don't care how many times I'm told "Better you than me, buddy." or "Your wife must feel so lucky that she can leave you with the kids." or whatever other garbage I hear. I don't care how many times working vs/ SAH parenting is being discussed on tv and it's always - ALWAYS - about the moms. Don't care.
I'm proud to stay home with my daughters. I'm proud of my wife for the work that she does (although, I must admit, I do wish she worked a little less insane hours). I'm proud of my daughters, and the young beautiful amazing women they're becoming.
I'm not just proud, I'm grateful. Yes, it's a lonely, thankless job. Yes, I know I know I know the word "job" shouldn't even be used, as technically, I don't get paid. Got it. Check. Don't care. I'm still grateful for the opportunity, every day, to do the best I know how to do to make my family the best family it can be. And that wouldn't be happening if my wife and I were both out in the workforce.
So there you have it. I'm a proud SAHD dad. Ha.
