I'm a cradle Catholic. I've been in various ministries. Most recently, I've been the catechist and facilitator for the Catholics Come Home group at my parish.

We put on a series of 8-12 meetings several times a year. Prior to each set of meetings, we advertise in the bulletin, on Catholic radio, community paper, etc. We've found that most people who leave either never learned the Faith or have forgotten it. So, our meetings center around basic Catholic teaching. Either I, another parishioner or priest give a talk then we have discussion time. Optimally, we have another parishioner come in a give a 5-minute invitation to join one of the many ministries. This way, when they "graduate" from being a Catholic "Coming Home" to a Catholic "At Home" they have hopefully connected with a ministry that they can join to continue their growth and begin to feel like this is "their" parish and their faith.0
