adipex side effects....

I have been on Adipex for a little about a month now, and man the sid effects are really setting in. I am doing really really great with loosing weight. I have lost just about 20lbs. I love that my appetite is lowered and my energy level increased. But the insomnia inability to sleep and my oh my, my mood swings are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! I am yelling and screaming at the drop of a pin head, I feel so bad for my boyfriend. He doesn't even do anything. I just snap. Is anyone else on adipex and have side effects? Does anyone have any suggestions to keep the anger tamed down or nonexistant???? Thanks!

I tried it a few years ago and also had great (fast) results and horrible mood swings & irritability. I also started smoking again while taking it (I had quite a few years earlier). After a few months, I was put on a "holiday" by my doctor and when I tried to go on it again it didn't work anymore. I held off the weight for a while but within 2 years, it all came back on. It kept me from not eating, but it didn't teach me how to live a healthy lifestyle. The good news is after I stopped using it, I quit smoking (again) and became my old self. My advice to you (if you plan to stick with it) is use it to learn/implement new healthy habits with food and exercise that you can stick with and ween yourself off once you are there. Given the type of medication it is, your mood will probably continue to be affected until you are off of it, but daily exercise might help manage that - not sure if you are already doing that though.

I ended up having to stop taking Adipex because it was making me have high blood pressure which in turn was causing me to be moody. It did help me lose 40lbs but I gained it back when I stopped taking it. If i were to take it again I would watch what I ate and exercise and stick to it. I just worry because it made my blood pressure dangerously high.
