And I say this without any bias - in spite the fact that I am an advid listener of his podcasts, I really didn't think he would respond to my request. I am currently in the process of writing a book and my character is a concept artist who has been hired on at a small video game company. Since this is beyond my scope of knowlegdge (except for gaming), research was necessary.
The first person that came to mind was Scott Johnson. I know him to be an illustrator (FrogPants Studios) and a gamer himself. I immediately sent him an e-mail introducing myself and the reason why I was requesting his help. Thirty minutes later, he responds with a resound "Sure! I'll be happy to answer any questions you have! Just send them over!"
I could hug him through the computer! Now the hard part is asking the right questions....
