Starting over Again

So tired of all this, I made is all the way to 10 weeks pregnant, then just to find out after 3 trips to the ER, 2 doctors, and a visit to my specialist before finding out that my baby didn't make it past 7 weeks and had to go in for an emergency D&C. So my pregnancy failed shortly after we got to see our baby's heartbeat on our first ultrasound.
My husband and I decide to try again as soon as the doctors clear us. I am just wondering if anyone has any advice to give about not miscarrying again? Diet? Questions I should be asking my doctor? Meds? etc.

I am so sorry about your loss :(

Unfortunately, I don't have any advice. I was only able to get pregnant once in the past 7 years, which resulted in a miscarriage at 12 weeks.

We did do 4 rounds of IUI as well, and I had to do Progesterone for a week after the insemination each time that was supposed to help the pregnancies "take" - maybe ask your doctor about that?

I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

My heart is breaking for you. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I know that a lot (maybe 25%? - don't quote me) of pregnancies end in early miscarriages. Even more upsetting for those of us with PCOS to think about, since it is so hard for us to get pregnant in the first place. I know I had one friend who lost two babies and it turned out it was because of her high blood pressure. once she had that under control, she was fine and now has two children. She needed to see a specialist.

    Best of luck to you.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I had a friend who had countless miscarriages and finally found a doctor who upped her folic acid supplements and like magic she had two successful pregnancies in a row. Maybe ask your doctor about that?

I know that my Dr told me she would keep me on Metformin for a few months if I got pregnant, it is supposed to help with preventing miscarrage so I'd mention that to your Dr and see what they think.

i just miscarried my first pregnancy as well. devastating. then i got the pcos/insulin resistance diagnosis. doc isn't too concerned & says i can manage it with diet & exercise. so here i am. ttc again in nov/dec.

my friend (who has endo & went through 4 ivf cycles to conceive her perfect baby boy) and i are currently doing our research on supplements. i have the belief that we are all being 'poisoned' by the chemical bombardment that our bodies are being put through. i'm becoming a believer that increasing vitamins & supplements might help our bodies fight the chemical better & lead to improved health.

once we have come up with a supplement regimen (based on the recommendations of doctors/bloggers/researchers) i will find a place here to post it. for whatever it's worth. it's the route i'm taking.
