Arm Exersizes

While doing insanity, I found out I almost zero upper body strength. I am restarting (never actually completed it) and while doing cardio power I can barely do correct pushup (I got the form but I just can't go all the way down and up). I can't get my knees off the ground to do the dips so I do them with knees on the mat and even then I can't do the all cause it burns a lot!

I was wondering do I just keep pushing through the videos or should I add some extra arm exercises? I have 5lb dumbbells.
