Going crazy!

My son is driving me nuts. His behaviors are getting out of control. I feel like I have no control over anything he does anymore and I feel like there is nothing I can do to help him. It seems like he is the boss. I don't know what to do! I just feel like locking myself in the room and curling into a ball and just sobbing. Sorry for the rant..

not a rant, I can totally understand what your going through...have you looked into a behavioral specialist?, thats what Im looking into at the moment...in the beginning they wanted to put him on meds , I will only use that as a last resort, but if he can get help other way Im gonna try that0

Right now he only gets speech and OT. I'm trying to get ABA for him but because he is over three it is pretty difficult. It just sucks though because he doesnt act like this at school! I feel like people dont believe me and just think I'm making this stuff up!!not a rant, I can totally understand what your going through...have you looked into a behavioral specialist?, thats what Im looking into at the moment...in the beginning they wanted to put him on meds , I will only use that as a last resort, but if he can get help other way Im gonna try that0

I believe you. I have the same problem with my 7 year old. He is an angel for his grandma's and good in school. No one believes me that he turns into a devil child at times when he I have him. Is your son acting this way at a particular time or in response to something? Usually my son is acting up because he did not get his way. (there are times that it just makes no sense). I know in my case that he senses my emotions and that makes it worse.

Sometimes kids who are so good at school etc, act up at home to let off steam. It can be pretty hard work behaving for others all the time. That's what our OT told us at a sensory workshop. I try to let our girl have time to be herself especially when she has been at therapy all day. It'll get better!0

I understand we go though the same thing with our 5 year old. we were told the same thing about letting her have time my her self. It has helped but it is hard keeping her 2 younger siblings away. its not a rant I have felt the same way0

My 5 year old daughter is the exact same way! Even though she doesn't talk quite as well as most other kids her age, I swear she can argue like a teenager lol! She actually bit me today when I tried to stop her from doing something and she was refusing to stop. She hasn't bit me since she was a toddler!0

I know the feeling. But I will tell you this my son began ABA two years ago and is a different child for it. He is 6 years old and it wasn't a problem here my area. When are they going to start making it easier for our kids to get EVERYTHING they need. I'm sorry you are going through this.0
