EVE: Dust 514

So I booted up my PS3 for the first time in a few days and saw that two games had been added by PSN; one of which was Dust 514. I've never played EVE online so I have no idea what this MMO-FPS(?) is all about. Someone clue me in. Why? Because I'm just too lazy to Google it. Plzkkthx.

I don't play EVE either, but I have a friend who does. He talks about it endlessly.

From what I can recall, Dust 514 takes place on planets found within the EVE galaxy. You play a mercenary for one corporation or another and you'd be fighting for control over sections of land. Your actions on the planet will effect game play in EVE. The influence works both ways.

    Oh yeah, and you're immortal.

Thanks! Maybe I'll see what it's all about...mehbeh

I would be interested to see just how much game play in the two games interact. If only because said friend is part of an alliance that prides itself on regularly crashing the economy and screwing people over.

I have played the beta a bit, it is a shooter with RPG elements. They are slowly adding features, I didn't see any interaction with EVE yet, they are just sorting out the servers and bugs.

It also has keyboard and mouse support on the PS3 if that's something anyone is interested in.

Also, Counterstrike: GO on the PS3 has mouse/keyboard support as well.
