Ok, that statement isn't 100% true but it's pretty close. I had gained a bit of weight cause I was eating like a cow and now I've lost it all because I don't want to eat anything. I went out for chinese with my husband and ate simply because I had to, now it's close to dinner time I know I should/need to eat again but NOTHING sounds good. For the last 2 or 3 days I have eaten mostly chex and grapes. I bought a ton of fruit and nothing but the grapes appeal to me (though, I could go for a banana, too bad there aren't any in the house!)
Has anyone else encountered this? What did you do? What did you find to eat?
I know I need more protein but nothing at all sound good. Hubs set aside some kidney beans and brown rice for me which normally is great but right now the idea of ingesting it just doesn't sound fantastic.

Make a smoothie out of the fruit, some yogurt and add some PB or protein powder to get your protein. When I didn't feel like eating anything I found I could always drink one of these.0

Good idea with the smoothie. You could also try making one with a banana, milk, and Siggi's vanilla yoghurt (super packed with protein). I remember only wanting bland (white/tan) food during the latter half of my first trimester. I found eating pre-made meals also helped. Something about preparing meals made everything extra gross to me. And I found that the less time I spent looking at it, the easier the food was to eat.0

I've been having protein issues for a few weeks now, even though I am usually a big meat-eater. I've been adding a scoop of chocolate protein powder to the milk I put in my morning cereal, since I can't seem to handle eggs or any other sort of morning protein. I've also been getting the good yogurt (Siggi's, Greek Gods, and Brown Cow) and having a couple of those a day. Afternoon snacks are cheese and maybe a small muffin with a big glob of peanut butter. I know it's not ideal, but just do what you can...as long as you are taking your prenatals and not starving yourself, I would imagine the baby will be fine. If you're anything like me, what you can/can't eat will come in waves. I went for an entire week awhile back eating hummus and veggies on pita bread with cheese, and now the mere sight of hummus grosses me out. Good luck!0

For some reason I just saw everyone's posts....oh wait, it makes since, after I posted that I left for an emergency trip home so I wasn't online for a few weeks...it's good to know I'm not totally losing it!
a protein shake sounds good, I'll definitely have to do that. I'm getting to where a bit more appeals to me, though I have th same aversion to cooking Lavie mentioned. What are all of you craving these days? Recently discover anything delicious?0 -

Last week and up until a couple of days ago I was craving lots of carbs, especially crackers and breads. Starting yesterday I have been craving meat. Well, really beef more than anything else. I saw that some frozen meatballs are buy one get one free at my local supermarket, and all I can think about is having spaghetti and meatballs! Beef stew also sounds delicious. I brought a sandwich for lunch, but I might pop into the supermarket across the street from my office to see if they have some beefy soup or stew. (It is also freezing cold in my office, so hot soup sounds good.)0 -

I just emailed DH telling him I need to make salsa this weekend. Just got a random craving for it!
Usually after lunch I sit at my desk and think about cookies. Luckily getting a cookie means driving to the grocery store and that's too much effort, so not much cookie eating going on around here.
During my pregnancy I've learned to enjoy cream of wheat cereal and steel cut oats. Two things I occasionally forced myself to eat but never really enjoyed in the past!
I've also been eating a lot of bananas lately (but I've always liked them).0
