Profound conclusion:

I've come to the conclusion that the only reason people have partners and children is to alleviate the silence and boredom of being on their own.

Today, out of a social circle of about 20 friends, either single, married or solo parents, NONE of them are free!

It's even dead in here!!

I am therefore bored, alone with no-one to play with but myself!!

    Hey Lacroyx

You always work weekends!! Why? Is that a choice thing (for more money?) or part of your job? What do you do??

I worked yesterday for about 12 hours. I was shattered by the end of the day and looking forward to my day off today. Now I just wish I had something to do......,., I know, I'm a crazy woman

It's just my normal shift. I get Monday/Tuesday off. I work in IT i.e. computer desk job. It has it's perks. Less people to deal with, I can show up in my PJ's and no one cares, get off work in the morning and head straight to the gym when it's less crowded in the wee morning. However it sucks for a social life at times ) =

Ahhhh, how coool turning up in PJs!!!

Great that you can catch the gym first thing too. I'm going to have to get a gym membership soon as I've run out of ways to lose weight without exercising my tush off!.....

I think I'm a night owl, and hate early morning shifts, but dont think I could handle nights. What time is there?? It's 2pm here. I think I should go for a walk as its lovely sunshine too

it's 6am here. Yes, the early morning gym time is great. Few of my other friends that work a normal dayshift and week say it's near impossible to get to the gym. Super crowded, parking lot is full etc. etc. by the time they get off and think about hitting the gym.

I can see that to a point. We are not meant to be alone so when we are, we want to change it. However, when we have it, we often want to change that too!

I'm now busy enough as a single person that even my friends schedule in advance with me, haha! But, nothing wrong with a little alone time with yourself  As a closet perv, I love your big smile after that statement, hahahahaha.....my mind is still in the gutter as always!

I dont know anything about golf. I went to driving range once (with a nutty guy I was seeing - he made me laugh for a while but then I realised he was just a lunatic!!) and nearly broke my elbow, so that was end of my professional golfing career!!

hahahaha!!! NC, it was subtle but totally perv!!!

It's funny because, like you, I am usually very busy with work and my social life is rockin 90% of the time. However, the odd time, when I find myself at a loose end, I do feel the pains of singledom and wish that the 'love of my life' ex would roll up in a camper van and just decide that being a confirmed bachelor is kinda boring!

I actually dont mind being on my own most of the time. But today I feel like talking and doing something, so that doesnt help.

I guess I should just go for a walk and take a book to read over the park. Perhaps I'll pick up a nice single guy walking a dog......

So you go to the gym at 6am, go home and eat then sleep?? What time do you wake up?? And do you then sleep at night for your days off??

And if you've now left work, thanks for the chat!! :flowerforyou:

Usually 7-8am. If I go home first, I'll see the bed and sometimes that wins  I eat afterwards. I always workout on a empty stomach. I got sick one time from eating just ½ a muffin and going walking. Never again:sick: I'll pack my gym clothes or just wear them to work. On work nights I am in bed by 2-3pm and up by 10:30pm. I do flip back and sleep at night on my days off. Sometimes I think I spend more time at the gym than at home. lol.

Par is the number of strokes it should take if you played it perfect.

Not exactly. Par is the number of strokes you should take if you played it on "average," although assuming you are a very good player. Hence the expression, "That's par for the course." I.e., that's what is to be expected.

Living alone has long periods of silence.

But I am not sure that is the main selling point of being in a relationship and having children.

In my opinion, the best living arrangement is the childless couple.

Many parents likely desire to be able to sleep until 9 or 10 AM on a weekend morning. Childless couples can easily do that.

Childless couples can do whatever they see fit collectively. It is the perfect blend of individuality and the benefit of coupling.

I agree wholeheartedly. To expand on that, I would say that it is even better if one or both have jobs that require extended travel. Days to weeks away with some serious alone time to read, write, contemplate life, etc etc... I think this could provide both halves with a greater sense of independence, help to build trust from actual experience apart, and even allow for some mini personal vacations piggybacked on the work travel.

I have a TV. It's on a lot when I'm home. If it's not, I probably have music on instead. I can alleviate the silence myself, and I'm not bored. There's always something to do.

Yeah, I agree that those things usually break the silence, but I was really in the mood for company!! Chatting, drinking, socialising, you know? Good old human interaction.......lol. It's just not the same when I'm in that mood.

But hey, I managed to survive

Ah!! Well, yeah, prolonged absence makes the heart grow fonder, and certainly increases the sexual tension!!

But personally, I like to have someone around for more regular fun and frolics and a general sharing of life :flowerforyou:
