In order to start this Challenge off right (my first!) I've decided to add a 4-day water detox to my efforts. This isn't a fast, it's just replacing the 8 glasses of plain water that I drink every day. Okay... I don't always drink all 8 glasses, which is another benefit of this more measured approach.

One sealable pitcher with 8-9 cups of water
One pealed and thinly sliced cucumber
One thinly sliced lemon
12-15 mint leaves
1 tsp of grated ginger

Combine all ingredients and let steep in the refrigerator over night. Drink all 8 cups throughout the next day. Avoid any other beverages during the 4-day "detox."

I've seen versions of this in several places but I got this one from Pinterest. For someone who doesn't like cucumber, I was a little concerned but it really isn't bad and it's got a light refreshing taste to it. My plan is to do this once a month. The downside is, I'm going to not drink any coffee for the next 4 days and I really love coffee. :drinker:

I hope everyone is having a great day!!

Sooooo......am confused....do you "only" drink the water concoction or are you still eating as well?

I'm still eating. This just replaces the regular water that I normally would drink.
  • This sounds great. I haven't been drinking water like I should. I'll start this tomorrow. Tonight I will go buy some cucumbers. Thanks for the idea.

It actually didn't taste bad either, and I don't like cucumbers! The lemons and mint take care of that. Personally, I had been struggling with drinking enough water every day and this made me focus. For the last few days I've been workin in the premise that the more you drink, the less you retain and I've been averaging 9 cups of plain/filtered water throughout the day. I think it's made a huge difference in my progress.
