liquid diet?

A friend of mine recently had metal braces put in. As a result she could not eat solid foods for a month. I guess it had to do with discomfort due to the newness of the object in her mouth or the sheer difficulty of having to clean after each meal. Whatever it was it surely worked for her as she placed herself on a liquid meal diet. Whatever she consumed had to be able to go through a straw... she was so adamant that she went out and purchased different straws to handle liquid meals of different texture and thickness.
People I watched her shrink... Not that she need to lose weight anyway... But this woman dropped near 20 lbs in the space of a month. She made sure she consumed her needed calorie intake for each day.... but there was no starch in her diet or candy for that matter.
This has me thinking about a liquid 5 week challenge. What is your view about liquid diets?

    Personally i like to chew.....

I'm not a fan of shakes etc mainly because I don't like the taste but again I like to chew, I like to eat....

If she was just putting her normal food in a blender to puree it, maybe it's worth a try....

How interesting. How does it work? I thought pureeing made more sugar in things. Maybe eating is just more effort so you do it less.

I am intrigued by this, though I'm not sure it's for me.
