I am now convinced

that I am too fat for pendlay rows. Being bent over like that hurts my stomach, makes me feel constipated. I feel like Im just jamming the bar into my fat/boobs, and still not getting it up high enough to create good muscle movement in my back.
I need to find a better way if I want to keep increasing the weights. :grumble:

What about keeping your back straight but going at more of an angle than the usual stance, the back still comes into play at and angle I am sure, rather than crunching yourself flat and feeling uncomfortable?0

Just keep doing them with the best form you can, and you won't have to say "I'm too fat" in the very near future! So glad to see you working it girl. Keep it up!
Don't forget that a lazy diet will ruin a great workout! I found an awesome app for tracking on the android market called myfitnesspal.0 -
I thought about switching to bent over dumbbell rows for a bit because I will be able to extend my arms farther back with out the bar jamming into my stomach, but Im pretty sure I will not be able to do the same weight. I am currenly on 80lbs, i cant imagine picking up 2 40lb dumbbells for some reason.0

Sometimes I substitute cable rows.
I feel like I get the back better with them.

(I do this probably 1 out of 4 times)0 -
I'm able to do 80lbs on the barbell and 40lb dumbbells. It is a bit harder and it will be much harder to increase weights unless you can find to way to only add 1-2 lbs to each dumbbell.0

I stood up a little straighter today and that seemed to helped the crunched feeling. I still don't really feel it in my back though, more like the back of my arms. I did some cable rows also for good measure. Those I was able to do at 100lbs with no issue.0

I noticed that I really had to focus my mind on using my back muscles during rows or I just used my arms. Really try to tell your body that you need to use those back muscles during the movement.0

Yes, as though you were bringing you schoulder blades together0
