Hello!!
Wanted to find out if you tried any healthy food alternatives available in Nigeria? I have switched out of using palm oil to make vegetables to using olive oil.

Any suggestions?

  • Never use palm oil at home. We use mostly vegetable oil with zero/low cholesterol and discovered we did not miss the palm oil flavor.

I am also trying to avoid pounded yam or anything with pure white color. Rice is the toughest. Cant give it up.

So we have to give up eating rice. And garri and all those. I thought we could eat a little lesser.but help me.
  • You are right. A lot (not a little) less is good. I am trying to limit rice to twice a week (small portions) and pounded yam to once or not at all. Good luck

For rice try switching out to whole grain rice :)
It actually tastes delicious.. and it's so much healthier! I use Uncle Ben's but I'm sure all other wholegrain rice tastes just as good.
