Anyone else having problems with this app? Yesterday when we went mountain biking it shorted me 2 miles. Between me and my partner we had 2 cyclometers and 2 apps (she was using map my run) and 3 of them put our mileage at 10.3 and Strava put it at 8.3.

I do not profess to an expert on the subject but I believe that the GPS devices in 'smart' phones are not that great at keeping a GPS signal and therefore you get 'dropouts' which may leave you short.

I upgraded to a Garmin because of issues like this and have never looked back, you can still upload your rides to sites like Strava for comparison/statistic details.

    All the best.

I use Cyclemeter for my rides and upload the .tcx file to Strava rather than use their app

^^^^ What he said!! I got so annoyed with the unreliable GPS on my smartphone (didn't matter which app I used, it's the GPS signal itself) that I got a Garmin bike computer and then I can still import that data into Strava and Endomondo etc. The Garmin has been well worth the money I spent on it. I'm hoping to get a cadence meter for it in the next couple of months too.

GPS on a phone is only as good as your data coverage. Dense tree cover or a good valley that blocks the signal could cause a lot of loss.

Thanks for the replies! It was a little annoying because my partner's smart phone (we have the exact same phone with the same provider) using map my rides recorded it accurately, but Strava didn't. Wasn't sure if it was my phone or the app.
