Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NIV biblegateway/com)
"Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
I am so energized and encouraged from this weekend Ladies' Retreat! I have such a hard time doing this alone (my weight has not really changed since April 2012, it has gone up and down by the same few pounds - frustrating!).
This morning I pulled out the book I am going to follow for the next three months to see how it works for me. My selection is "The Blood Sugar Solution" by Dr Mark Hyman. I intend to use his initial 6 week plan to "reset" my brain's dependence on sugar and carbs (I really am conditioned that way), and will set a date soon to actually initiate that 6 weeks so I am ready for it.. Dr Hyman's is just one of many plans. Find a plan that you feel will work for you.
--> Be sure to talk to your doctor if you have not done so already.
Today for breakfast I tried on Dr Hyman's recipes for a protein shake, on page 322. I did not have exactly the same ingredients, but most of them (I used whey protein for now, not rice) and I used unsweetened almond/cocoanut milk (Blue Diamond), and only 1 T of flax seeds. I really enjoyed it and it is satisfying; I can sip on it longer than it takes eating a bowl of cereal. And, MyFitnessPal database already has this recipe logged in by another MFP member, so it was easy to add it to my log for today.
I got started!! I'll be praying for all of you, too, to get started and have as easy time doing so as I did.
So, how is your Monday 9/24 going?
