Post Half Marathon Recovery

I did have a plan to take a full recovery week - several days off, upper body strength trainin towards the end of the week, maybe a mid week swim, a couple of easy runs over the weekend. Also have a deep tissue massage shceduled for Tuesday. Sounded like a good idea at the time. After both my last half and my last oly I ended up with an injury within a week of the race. Plus I just had a sprint tri and a halfmarathon within two weeks of each other. So I figured I would be really conservative and make sure that didn't happen again.
Two days post HM, I'm going stir crazy! Would a midweek run really be such a bad idea? A leg session w/the weights over the weekend?
What does "recovery" week mean for the rest of you?

If you're going to run keep it slow and gentle. It's always tempting to just hop back in the saddle (and some runners do without any apparent consequences) but your body needs a bit of a break. Try some low/zero impact stuff - go for a swim or a bike ride, that'll help burn off some energy.

I always run during my recovery weeks. Nothing fast or long but a run for sure.

Depends on where you are in your fitness......did the 1/2 kill you, are you real sore? If so rest. If you felt strong, still feel strong.....go for a recovery run just take it easy.

    Yep.

What it means to me could be entirely wrong for you.

Thanks guys! Sore today, but I swear it's from two days of not doing anything. Felt great after the last one too, but apparently did too much or too hard the week after because I ended up with a hamstring injury, so trying not to repeat that mistake. Body is begging for a run though, so i guess I'll just try to keep it easy and work my way back up gradually over the next few days.
