I know we are usually laughing at or tearing apart people online profiles but what are some things that have been mentioned that actually catches your eye and makes you want to respond to them.

I just had a guy message me and the thing his profile said was "The zombies are coming, do you really want to be with some wimp wearing skinny jeans when half your neighborhood is trying to eat your brains? Yeah I didn't think so."

Just for that I messaged the guy back.

I can't remember specifics as I've not been subscribed for over a year.

However, I was always drawn to nice smiles, nice eyes and a text that didnt mention the size of women! Compatible in music, art and interior design, is a huge plus.

Also, I'm attracted to a guy who writes a couple of paragraphs that comes across as witty, intelligent and good fun.

If it says something like ' I dont know what to say, I'll fill this in later' then I assume he's not chatty, not fun, not intelligent!

Sorry, I know we are supposed to be focusing on the positives.......

That is so awesome! I would have messaged him too.

I messaged a guy from OKC in March who had a profile that was hilarious from start to finish with only a couple things in it that were really about himself - the rest was total fiction and really ridiculous. I knew from it that he had a great sense of humor - and sure enough, he did when I met him.

Really anything nerdy in there tag line will get me to look closer. Also guys with pics of musical instruments. What can I say I have a thing for musicians:blushing:

The was one guy who asked me which one was my favorite star wars or star trek--- It showed me he had atleast glanced through my profile

This. Also bonus points if she is either wearing some nerdy/comic book/sci-fi shirt or cosplaying in her pictures.

    Cause nerds/geeky are hot:love:

I love it when I admit my nerdy side to people and they dont believe me until we get into some "interesting " conversations

    Pictures first.

Then if there's something quirky or original. Of course I look for children, what they're looking for, etc.

I've noticed a lot of guys use song titles for their "headlines" (ya know the thing in bold that you see first)

One catchy one was "Astounding Randomocity" (sp?)

Um....I tend to stay away from zombie ones. As I have no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Goals and aspirations really make someone stand out. Silliness, joking, a bit of sarcasm are all things I zero in on.

I look for someone who has a general overall positive attitude about herself, life, and the fact that they are on a dating website. I pay close attention to the tone of a girl's profile description. If she starts off with a list of deal breakers, turn offs, or something like "I can't believe I am on one of these sites" I click away. In my opinion, that might translate into having a lot of negativity in other areas of her life. Having such a list might be ok, I think, but not if it is the whole focus of the profile or her way of introducing herself.

yeah, well said! :flowerforyou: Same goes for guys who dwell on the fact they dont get responses, can't get dates, dont know what to say or how to say it, dont know what they want or what they're looking for. A general 'can't be bothered' attitude bothers me! Urgh!

Love a line that just makes me laugh! Not that he has to be a comedian, just has to have a light heart

Impeccable grammar and an extensive vocabulary do more for me than a million six pack pictures!

Even if he's a nice guy, an errant "your" when it should be "you're" turns me off.

I'm actually turned off by guitars, too. Perhaps because I have experience with the "aspiring musician"...

Major points for originality, for sure! :)

I once considered dating a guy who played the bagpipes. It absolutely worked to tilt the odds in his favor...

Honestly, once I learned that guys don’t really read our profiles, just go off looks, I stopped reading theirs. Every so often a witty or unique tagline or username will catch my eye. But I generally don’t even read their profile until I’m actually heading out to meet them. I know some people don’t want to waste time dating folks who are incompatible, but, while I *did* meet a lot of duds, for me 100% of the time guys I have liked turned out to be someone who (on paper) I wouldn’t have given the time of day. But I said yes, met them in person, and was amazed.
I just had a guy message me and the thing his profile said was "The zombies are coming, do you really want to be with some wimp wearing skinny jeans when half your neighborhood is trying to eat your brains? Yeah I didn't think so."

    That is beyond awesome!
