Speaking about form...

For deadlifts: I was so excited this morning that I had upgraded my gym membership so I could go to a "fancier" gym. Glory be! They actually had a deadlift platform available. I hadn't used one of these in AGES and used to do deadlifts all the time using one.

However, today I noticed using the platform just did not feel natural. It seemed like it was more difficult to "roll" the bar up my legs using the platform than without using it. I am still at very light weight (105 lbs), but want to get form perfected in preparation for heavier lifts.

Anyone else noticed this when using a platform? Or, am I just having some sort of psychological reaction?? LOL

Any suggestions?

I am not sure what a platform is...I just lift from the ground next to the bench press area or the area by the bicep curl barbell thingy, wherever there is room for my *kitten* going to and fro ; )

LOL-Must have room for the hiney, for sure.

I am going to go back to lifting straight from the floor. I figured it out...the space between the barbell and my feet is too small and it makes it feel awkward. Can't wait to get up to 45 lb. plates, but it will be a L O N G time before that happens!
