Carb loading and wt loss

This week I have been carb loading for my marathon on Sunday. I have also been tapering my runs. I got on the scale this am and lots weight which just seems odd to me. Have any of you had this happen? It makes me wonder if I am not eating enough. I am on a 1200 cal diet and I eat back most of my exercise cal.

You're missing a word. Gained or lost weight?

This happened to me when I tapered for my HM a couple of weeks ago (and has continued).

I wonder if it's because you run less, your muscles are retaining less water, and the weight starts to drop (rather than carb loading?)

Sorry, it should have said "lost" and not lots.

You're probably right. Eating 1200 calories while running is really not enough.
