I have 2 Red/White Siberian Huskeys. My 30lb one is 14 1/2 and I am so in love with her and my 6 yr old (I think that she is) is about 60-65lb rescue dog. They are by far the best dogs in the world. I don't think I would ever get a different dog. My hubby has a lab and not too keen on labs.

    Hello :-)

Zaria (my profile pic) is 2 years and 4 months.

She has the most fantastic personality and I love the cute little quirky things she does. She will always rest her chin on the surface of something before she climbs on it - we call it "the comfort test".
Does anyone else's husky do this?

If we've slept in too long on a Saturday she'll climb on the bed and pull our covers off. I'm sure my mum used to do that to me when I was a kid!

<----Shadow is my bud my avatar...he's been the funnest dog I've had, he has so much personality and enjoys talking at times. Loves to wake me in the morning to go out...I've been working on getting him to say I love you...not there yet...back door, yes and no seem to the the only ones so far. He loves to chase the cat...we have a tuxedo cat that didn't like Shadow at first but they have grown on each other.

I have a beautiful Red/white husky named Coco. She is almost 6yrs old and is one of the best dogs I ever owned. Every morning after I say good morning to her she says something in her cute husky voice. We just had a recent scare with her about a month ago. She was vomiting and not eating so we took her to the vet, the xrayed, did blood work and sent her home with antivomiting medicene. Unfortunately that didnt work so she stayed a whole day at the vets with an IV, then she went home (this was on a Fri) all weekend she was soo sick she would just lay there and vomit. Finally on Mon morning we had an ultrasound done and they found something in her belly. It couldnt be detected on the xray, we were thinking the worse so to know she was going to have surgery and hopefully feel better was worth the risk. Well she did make a full recovery and came back to her normal self. She ended up having a Build A Bear stuffed egg in her belly.......I think she thought it was a chocolate egg :)
The thought of losing her was devestating and makes me love her more then ever....so hug your huskies and malmutes tonight!

They do have a curiousity more than my other dogs I've had, so glad to hear Coco is well.

Oh poor Coco!!! I hate when they are unwell. I feel so bad for them, you can't really do anything for them at all.

Our husky was sleeping under the neighbour's ute on the inlaw's driveway and he drove off not knowing she was there. She was very lucky only to have an injured front paw, but is all nicely healed up now. I got a phone call at work that said "Zaria has been runover". My heart was in my throat and I thought she'd been killed. Fortunately she was super lucky and managed to get far enough away in time.

<---- Keiko aka Goober 7 yrs old. I was his 3rd owner by the time he was 6 months old,his 1st owner had his leg amputated and could not take care of him or his momma and gave them up, I wish I had taken her in as well, she was an all white husky. His 2nd owner was living in an apartment and found him too destructive, he shredded everything in sight as soon as anybody left him alone for more than 5 minutes. By the time I got him he had a good solid base of bad habits and was well versed in the art of escaping his inside kennel, and looked like a ninja climbing the 6 ft fence that surrounded the yard. It took several months of retraining to get him under control and off my kitchen counter looking for cookies. My other dog is a Rottie/lab sweet, dumb and lazy but she keep Goober out of trouble. Life with a husky has been a joy and wouldnt change it for anything...well maybe the 4am wooooooooo woooooo wooooooooooooo.

Hello! I own 4 of them!

Mya - our first, had her from a puppy she's now 2.5 years old - black and white and has blue eyes. She's the most stubborn out of them but my little princess.
Kai - our second, rescued him when he was 10 months old, he's now nearly 3 - black and white husky x mal with blue eyes. He's also known as Mr Serious, very head strong hates change and can't cope with too much excitement but makes a good pillow.
Shadow - our third, rescued him when he was 2.5 years and he's now just turned 4 - black and white 1 blue eye, 1 amber. We're his sixth home!! Resident wind up merchant, have to keep an eye on him with Kai but he's very lovable and loves snugs...very good at woo-woo'ing.
Delilah - our fourth and final!! Got her from a puppy, she's 1.5 years old now - wolf grey with brown eyes. Always on the go, noisy and doesn't know the meaning of 'personal space' - she'll have her nose wedged in-between your legs as soon as your through the door lol!!

Couldn't imagine my life without them now although sometimes it would be a hell of a lot easier

I have a soon to be 12 year old male named Yukon. My vet told me that he is the biggest male husky he has ever seen! Most people mistake him for a mute! He's 90 pounds of joy! He's black, grey, white & bi-eyed. He's such a great dog! He was starting to have some hip problems about a year ago - I switched him to Blue Buffalo senior large breed and he's doing great! He's so puppy like that it's easy to forget that he's a senior citizen :smooched:

I also had a female named Whiskey. I had adopted her from the humane society, they estimated that she was a year old. My vet had told me that she was beaten, as a crack in her sternum was found in an x-ray. She was my Marley. She would chew holes through a chain link fence, leap 4 foot fences in a single bound, she was the ultimate escape artist! I loved her anyway, she had spunk just like me  She was diagnosed with cancer in april of 09, I was lucky enough that the medicine she was perscribed gave me 6 more months w/ my spunky girl. I had to put her down on October 13th that year on my daughters third birthday, she was 12. I will NEVER forget her
