At first I was not sure if I wanted to watch this movie.....I don't think the trailer did it justice. But then I started seeing things online about the great twist in it, and I am all for a twist.
It started as your average movie, single mom and teenaged daughter move to a new place for a fresh start. They can now afford a house they would have never been able to before, due to the double murder four years earlier in the house next door. A young girl murdered both her parents,, and then ran into the woods, never to be found. Some say she drown in the lake, but others say she has been living in the woods ever since.....
Her brother, the sole survivor, that was living in another state with an aunt, has now come back and is living in the house. The community hates him, they want him to leave the house so they can burn it down, as it is driving down property values in the area.
Now, to the twist…..I seriously, thought I had it figured out about fifteen minutes into the movie. I was wrong. I had an idea that was not far off, but wrong nonetheless. I obviously do not want to give it away right here. Without saying too much, they only gave us clues to half of it, and if they would have given clues to the other half, I think more people would have guessed it earlier.
Overall, good movie, well done, and original.
