John 6:35 (NIV)
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
This morning I made eggs for my husband, and reached for the multigrain bread to make toast. The first slice was covered in mold! But, instead of being upset about that, I was happy - here was a quantitative indicator of how well I had resisted eating bread and butter for no reason at all except to satisfy whatever craving I had. I hate to waste food, but in this case, better to waste it in the trash than waist it on me.
Jesus is our bread. Today I will contemplate this as I continue to work on eating right. His portions are always the right size and His nutrition is complete. Are you allowing Jesus to feed you today?

So glad I found your group. Typed in naz and it came up! I've been doing WW and am lifetime but didn't weigh in today (1st of the month) like I was supposed to because I'm a few pounds over my goal and didn't want to pay. I'm going to try MFP to see if I can lose 7-8 lbs to get to a comfortable place to be able to weigh in and not be anxious every week about it. Just by tracking food on MFP for a few days I think I've discovered my problem with WW. I'm gluten free, dairy free and a lot of other things free so I've been doing simply filling technique, not counting points and doing well maintaining until the last month or so. Fruits and veggies are 0 points for WW but as I'm filling in the food diary here on MFP the calories are adding up. I eat a lot of fruit and veggies, probably more than WW assumes we should eat so actually tracking the calories might be helpful to me! I don't know if that makes sense but it was a good discovery for me and hopefully I'll be back on track.
I will try to "friend" the ladies in this group and will try to check in here and participate. We all need lots of encouragement because the journey to weight loss/better health is not an easy one and having friends/prayer partners/sisters in Christ is a huge help!0 -
Elayne, I really enjoyed reading your post. Yes, WW is good in many ways except for the way it counts for special diets - it is not really geared to that. I think they are working on that. Mark Hyman's "The Blood Sugar Solution" does address this gap in his planning. http://www.bloodsugarsolution.com/ and there are other books out now that do account for gluten and other allergies. Not all calories are the same, so I read in these types of materials.
I know you'll get those last few pounds off - what such success you have had!0
