I don't think I will be able to do the non-processed foods. UGH!! I will give it a try though. Wish we had a physical challenge, I think I will just try to do my jumping jacks that I forgot to do last week.
Maybe add my sit-ups in there also. I need to remember to do some push-ups everyday for a 100 day challenge I'm doing and that isn't going so well either.

I absolutely love the "pay it forward" portion of this weeks challenge!! What a great idea Pam!! I am a firm believer in positive energy so this part will be easy for me...
Now for the processed food... I looked up the definition and the website you recommended defined it as follows:
Legal Definition
The United States Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, Section 201, Chapter II, (gg) defines processed food as "any food other than a raw agricultural commodity and includes any raw agricultural commodity that has been subject to processing, such as canning, cooking, freezing, dehydration, or milling." This definition establishes parameters for the Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, to regulate quality and safety in the food processing industry.
This is going to be tough... Especially considering this weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving... But I promise I will give it a try...

Hey Pam,
Great challenge! I'm already eating non-processed foods 95% of the time (the diet I'm on is lean meats and veggies for the most part...no wheat, no dairy, no sugar, no salt!) but I DO have diet coke waaaay too often. So I'll try to cut the pop0 -

Oh man this non processed food part is going to be really tough. I mean I try every day to eat healthy, but it can be hard when you're on a budget you know? However, I am certainly going to try my best!0

Great challenge Pam. This will be difficult... I think I am addicted to Luna nutrition bars.
. I will plan on doing like carrielynn62 and having non processed snacks and so my best with meals. Good luck everyone!!

Good Luck to everyone!!! I KNOW how hard the nurtitional challange can be. I tried it and failed
BUT it did serve a huge purpose....and that was to realize how much processed foods I actually do consume.....and I thought I was eating "healthy". If you can replace one processed ingredients for a NON processed ingredient....you are already a step ahead!
Don't forget the Positive compliments challenge!!!! Spread the love!

My snacks have unprocessed and I have been cooking with as much fresh ingredients as I can but I stll have processed food too. I have been having whole foods like brown rice and high fiber and 100% whole grains too.0

Same here! For some reason on the weekend my brain goes bye bye and refuses to come back until Monday. Definitely going to try to get one whole meal tomorrow- I am thinking breakfast.0 -

I did it!!! I made my Lunch 100% NON processed!!! I was aiming for ALL day!! BUT I am taking baby steps!!! I made the quinoa!!! YUM YUM YUM!!!!! I just found my new favorite food!!!! i will try to do breakfast and lunch today. Let's see how that goes!!!0

This is a great challenge, since I join MFP back in Jan I have been learning how to eat clean from several of my friends here. It’s easy for me when I’m home but out in the world is a hard. I find myself eating fresh fish, steak and lots of salads on the road. The best part is you do feel a lot better and the fat melts off you.0

I love this challenge. I didn't do well yesterday but today I made qiinoa and it was wonderful and I also steamed some fresh broccoli to go with it and had a fresh salad on the side with cold pressed olive oil and fresh orange salt and black pepper. I think that I did good today for lunch and with raw nuts and fresh fruit for snacks today I have done better than I thought I could.
I am very aware of what I am putting my body for sure.0 -

i was able to have another NON processed LUNCH day....Dinner is 90% non processed.....had to add some LF cheese to my stuffed peppers :-/0 -

Hey! Sorry I have been MIA on this thread this week has been a tough one with the non processed food side of it, but I did manage 2 breakfasts that were non processed!!! AND a 50% non processed dinner which is the hardest for me. So over all not bad, but I am still working on it. Now on to week 5!0

i have been eating unprocessed a lot this week and tonight I ate some chips and now I feel sick, No more potato chips any time soon.0
