Missing My Little Girl Tonight :(

DD and I had a great night last night after practice just being goofy together! Although it was cold and windy, the rain stopped, and the Lions won their game today 14-0 (DD is a cheerleader). Now she's with her dad for the rest of the long weekend and I am missing her like crazy! This visitation isn't anything new, but for some reason it is just really hitting me tonight. I have to keep busy - still need to get my workout in and then I really need to take advantage of actually being home and CLEAN!!! Her practice schedule does not leave enough time to keep up on cleaning my apartment the way I'd like!
Anyway, to whoever took the time to read this, thanks for "listening" to my pity party!

Awe....sorry that you are feeling down. Take this time for you to do something you don't get to while you have your daughter. You already mentioned cleaning but maybe you can find something fun? Or even just something for you like a bubble bath with candles and a glass of wine. I know hearing "mom. MOM!" at the door while I am trying to relax in the tub is irritating. Hope your weekend gets better and let us know if you decide to do something fun!0

Thanks for replying. I'm doing better tonight and I think I'm actually going to find a good "grown-up" movie to watch and curl up on the couch with my cat! I've done my shopping, my workout, and started to clean, but now I think I need some down time. Tomorrow is laundry at my mom's (more visiting, than work!), more cleaning, workout, and then who knows! I have to work on Monday, but since DD is with her dad, I'll get to go in early so I can leave early.
Thanks, again, for the support!0 -
Hang in there, I'm sure she misses you too. In the beginning of my divorce the kids went to the X to stay and it about killed me. Breathe, it will be okay, hug her to death when she gets back,lol.0

I know the feeling. Every week when my son stays with his dad I think, woo hoo I get time to take care of stuff. Then I miss him so much my heart hurts.
How are you feeling today?0 -
Thanks, Zilla! I'm definitely looking forward to her coming home today! Her dad & I have been divorced for more than 5 years, but once in a while it just gets to me worse than usual. Keeping busy at work today. I came in uber-early so I can get out by 2, then taking my car for an oil change and I'll probably take a walk while I wait. Then I get to pick her up and enjoy some quality time before getting a head-start on her musical instrument project! Have a great day!0

I gotta quit watching the Kenny Chesney video "There Goes My Life" tears me up everytime. She goes to meet with the college softball coach Thursday. Her and her friend are going to meet with him and some of the players. Funny thing is the girls on the team keep texting her saying the coach is talking about you again. Man its gonna kill me when she is gone.0

That song gets me every time! Hang in there! My daughter is only 8, so I have a few years before I have to worry about college. But although she's only 8, I swear she's going on 18! Have a good night!0

I love my kids so much. When they are gone what am I gonna do? Wish I had more kids, they are a gift. I wonder would they let a single parent adopt.0

You know...you could always look into fostering a child. The lady that watched my kids over the summer is 69 years old and over the years has fostered almost 30 kids in her lifetime, she considers every single one of them her children...and their kids come to her house for "Camp Booshi" every summer, she loves all of her grandkids!0

Single parents can most definitely adopt! I think it depends on the agency. My ex's sister-in-law adopted a child from China (at least I think it was China) and was single at the time. The agency she used would only allow her to adopt if she was single and living alone or married. No co-habitation allowed!0

Fostering a child is a great idea! I dated a guy in high school who was one of 9 adopted children, plus his parents had at least 1-3 foster children at any given time.0 -
I would have had more kids had we been able to afford them. Now that I'm older I can handle it. I don't understand why some people have them and don't want them and I wanted them but couldn't afford more. Screwed up world...0

I want more kids but I am not sure that is going to happen any time soon. I may be in the same boat with adoption or fostering. I don't know what I will do if I don't have more and then my baby boy goes to college. Thanks Z. lol :flowerforyou:0

I miss the smell of a new born. I can remember mine and how pure and innocent they were. Not tainted by the world yet so to speak. Miss my little ones sleeping on my chest...:frown:0

Damn it man! lol My coworker's daughter just came in with her 8 month old. I want her. *sigh* :sad:0 -
I love that baby stage, when they can't get away and they still love to snuggle!0

She was so happy squealing and smiling. Now I get to go to the gym and go home to my lovable, tantrum throwing, fun 3 year old. lol0

And tomorrow I get to watch my 18 year old play in the Ga.State playoffs, best 2 out of 3 to move on to the second round. Kinda like watching college softball World Series. She kicks *kitten* at 3rd base, nothing gets past her, she dives through the air catches the ball hits the ground and throws the girl out. Its so cool. I've coach fastpitch softball forever and traveled to the Nationals where she showed out in front of college coaches. Thursday she travels to a college for the coach to make her an offer. Its so exciting right now. I'm like you were just pushing a walker yesterday, where did the time go?:sad:0
