Hello there! I'm just getting over a two week bout with a head cold and was finally able to get off my behind and workout today, so D1L1 is done for me!
So, back in May I got pretty serious about burning fat and toning up my body. I used mostly Shred but also some Ripped in 30, NMTZ, and walked/ran with the family a few times a week. In no time I saw some serious changes to my body and by August I lost over 11 lbs! And then I got lazy. My workouts have been really sporadic over the past two months and I've gotten really lax about what I'm eating, found out today I gained back five pounds, ugh. The other day I found my "goal" jeans, which if I had kept up with my progress I would be wearing right now, but, yeah, not even close :grumble:
Based on the progress I made in the summer, I think, if I buckle down on workouts and eating clean and healthy, I can get into those jeans for Thanksgiving. My challenge to myself starting now is to workout with Jillian five days per week PLUS run a mile a day, every day, and to log my food (that helps me soooo much...)
Anyone else in on the Shred PLUS a mile a day? You can always run more but no less
Today I did my mile right after completing a round of level one - talk about rubber legs! My pace was pretty slow and I did walk in the middle for about 50 yards, but I did it!
Feel free to add me as a friend (even if you don't want to run with me
) I could use some more "accountability"!

Hi, I am happy to join in with your extra challenge, i will be going on an overseas holiday to sunny Bali over christmas so wanna look good in a bikini. However, I don't do miles, as i live in Australia I do kilometers
I will also not necessarily do daily running, I might walk or use my spin bike as my knees have been playing up when I run longer than 5kms at the moment, so resting them a little. Have u tried using the app Endomondo? This tracks your mileage using GPS - works for me. I don't normally add too many MFP Internet randoms as friends, you will be my first

I am not good for running just yet. Doc wants me to stay low impact for a while yet and the 30DS is probably more than I should be doing, though not bothering the shin splints
I discovered today, if I get myself tot he gym just a few minutes earlier, I can still have time to jump on the elliptical for 15 minutes. I burned an extra 220 calories this morning in those 15 minutes. I already tend to add extrea cardio and circuit into my workout on my late days in to work but I would be happy to try and make a pact for two more days of 15 additional minutes of cardio.0 -
Yay! So exciting to have some folks to check in with for this extra challenge!
Yesterday I ended up doing another 1 3/4 miles with my hubby in the evening - it was super super slow, like practically walking, lol, but I burned some calories and that's what counts!
Today was my L1D2 on Shred and I could feel some serious sore muscles. Just a reminder that I took waaaay too much time off... Then I got out and ran 1.25 miles, another slow pace day but it's better than nothing. (Hey, by the way, do I get extra "points" for the fact that I run all my miles while pushing my 36lb toddler in the jogger?)0
