2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Rev Mike Benson preached on this verse during the Holiness Summit in Keene this past weekend. In this chapter, Paul is talking about the glory that radiated from Moses' face when he received the 'righteousness written on stone." All the more glorious is that which radiates our of those who know Christ, as the glory is written on our very lives from the righteousness He imparts to us.
This gives me a new perspective with which to see myself and my fitness goals. In terms of the righteousness I have in Christ, I have the habit of segregating my eating habits out of that righteousness I might see or assume in the rest of my life. When I do that, I can be thought-less about what I am putting into my body. If I view my eating as an act of worship, and apply to it the righteousness God gives me, I can hope for a sea-change in my mindset about eating. Holiness includes right eating and care of my body.
