Vegans in Chicago

Wanted to share some news for vegans eating on a budget--of cash and calories:
Apart Pizza now offers Daiya.
Santullo's has vegan slices and pies on Tuesdays (Daiya and Upton's).
These are inexpensive (at or >$10/person) and reasonably healthy (thin crust, not overtopped).
Any other light and inexpensive takeout meals to share?

Oh my gosh, didn't know about Apart! Cool. I used to live by one but moved away and am not so close anymore. Haven't heard of Santullos, but will definitely check it out. The bf and I finally hit up Dimo's a couple weekends ago and wow! We got the large size and it was ridiculously big!
I'll try to think of some inexpensive items. Falafel is all over the city and relatively inexpensive, but nothing new, I'm sure. That's our go-to, along with Thai food.
Thanks for the tips!0 -
I'm not from Chicago but the last time I visited, I went to Handlebar Cafe (in the Wicker Park area?). YUM. That is all I have to say.0
